The beginning of momness

welcome to my blog! I hope to give some words of wisdom and humor to the lifestyle known as "just a mom." It may be a little slow to get going since I am a newcomer to the weblog, but I will give it my best.

I began my lifestyle of momness at the age of twenty-two. My first child was a girl child I named Kileen. She was a non-sleeping night owl from day one. Now I on the other hand am a big time sleeper. I could not get by without my naps! So began the butting of heads that continues on today twenty some years later. This is not an unfriendly situation, we love each other, she has always just wanted to do things her way and I like to have things mine. I'm sure, not an unusual situation in many moms lives. Actually, as I look back on her growing up, it was a fantastic time of learning for me as well. Your first child is practically a practice kid! The poor thing has to forge through as you finish growing up and get your stuff together. My mom was an invaluable resource for me, I called her a million times with questions. It was probably the closest times we had, my mom seemed super smart to me. I could not have done it without her.
Another thing that stands out for me during those early years of momness was the realization of how much I could be infatuated by my little girl. She was amazing! Every day was a new adventure about what she could learn or do that would blow me away. I would have to call my mom twice a day to relate each detail. This is just one instance, when she was thirty days old she was fussy, so i called my mom. Mom told me "maybe ki is getting a tooth" Well, I rubbed her gum, and holy crud, she has two teeth! The baby book didn't say anything like that!
